Meet the Doctor

Dr.Amit Sharma is a board certified Interventional Cardiologist. He is board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology and Internal medicine.

Dr. Sharma completed his Graduate medical education from University of Alabama at Birmingham ( UAB) , where he also served as the Chief Resident. Dr.Sharma
completed General Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from St.Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, University of Missouri, Kansas City.  He was also selected to be the Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr.Sharma has also served as the Assistant Professor of Medicine - Director of Hospital Medicine and Associate Program Director of University of Alabama at Birmingham Internal Medicine Residency Program, where he received numerous awards for his teaching and leadership ability – this includes prestigious Tinsley Harrison Resident of the year award, awarded thrice UAB teacher of the year award.

Dr. Sharma has served as the Chairman of Cardiology and Medical Director of Cardiac Cath lab at Rockledge Regional Medical Center for the last three years and he also serves as the Regional Academic Dean for Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.  
Dr.Sharma’s primary research interests include MedicalEducation ,Patient Safety , Interventional Cardiology and structural heart disease. Dr.Sharma has delivered numerous CMEs at national and at International levels.
